In flux
2020
These gelatin silver prints explore weather patterns and the adherence to the horizon. The images represent a sundering of sorts; a dialectic of light and shadow, of earth and air. The horizontal line or the line of the landscape varies from picture to picture, albeit in an attempt to conform or resonate with the next. The photographs are, like its subject matter, in constant flux, yet they aim to offer harmony. This series is merely an attempt to capture the natural world, all the while instilling a corresponding, although heightened mood.
All photographs were shot during the mild but misty winter throughout Skåne, Sweden in December, 2019. The gelatin silver prints were produced in isolation in March 2020 on vintage Ilford Ilfobrom, rayon (double weight). All prints measure 16.5 x 21.6 cm.
